Introduction to Lords of Ironhearts |
BASIC RULES
LEADERS
- Your Raid Leader and Field Officers give orders and instructions, respect these. If things are unclear to you, don’t hesitate to ask
your Field Officer.
- If you don’t agree, have a remark or suggestion towards one of the leaders, don’t be afraid, there’s always room for your
suggestions – but keep it in whispers, to prevent causing confusion in the raid.
CHATTING
- Do not disturb the raid with non-stop nonsense chat, know where the line is. This does not mean raidchat only, but also goes for
Ventrilo and guildchat. Chitchat may actually be annoying or disturbing to other raiders, who try to stay focussed during the raid.
WIPING
- Wiping is part of this game, if you can’t deal with wiping an entire evening - this is not the place for you.
- Try to take the best out of wiping, be positive and come with feedback if you see what goes wrong.
- Some boss encounters result into a wipe as soon as one player does not function proper, so it requires your full focus and
utilization of your skills to succes. We give you the possibility to learn these fights, and learn from your mistakes. However,
frequently wiping the raid or failing at these certain moments are not acceptable. Remember that each evening 24 other people
count on you aswell.
OFFLINE
- Let your Field Officer know when you are not able to log-in to the game for more than three days (you can inform us on the forum
aswell);
- If you will be gone for a longer period, your Field Officer will demote you to Resting Lord status;
- Being offline for longer than one week without a word may result into a demote;
- Being offline for longer than 2 weeks without a word may result into a guild kick;
- Coming back after your absence does not mean you can claim your previous guildrank or guildspot.
CHANNELS
- During raids you should be in your class/field channel(s). This is where your officers will give you information about things you
need to know and do during the raid (eg. Healing assignments, misdirects, CC etc.), and is the place to talk about class/role specific matters.
LOIH'S RAIDING RULES
Lords of Ironhearts has scheduled raids 4 evenings a week, from 19:00 hr to 23:00 hr.
To create a firm core group, we expect you to join atleast 2-3 out of these 4 raids a week.
THE SIGN-UPS
- We use Blizzard’s in-game calendar for raid subscribing;
- The Field Officers will start approving queued members the day before the raid. In order to increase your chance of getting a
raidspot, sign-up on time. The spots are sorted by your skills and activity, thus guildrank;
- Notify your Field Officer if you will be online late, have to leave earlier or have to absent for a certain period during the raid.
RAID DURATION
- Our raid invites start at 19:00 hr and the first pull is expected to occur at 19:30 hr;
- If you are not present at 19:15, you will lose your raidspot (plus guildrank if it happens frequently);
- From 19:15 hr until 19:30, players on “Stand-by” status can expect an invite;
- Be inside the instance on time to get the buffs/table/soulwells fixed.
- There will be a 5-minute break somewhere between 21:00 and 21:30 hr;
- The raid ends at 23:00 hr, but may last a couple of minutes longer if necessary
PREPARATION
- We expect that, before you accept the raid invite, you are aware of the tactics of the bosses which will be attempted that evening. (Suggested website: www.bosskillers.com)
- If you have questions regarding instances or boss encounters, you can contact your Field Officer.
- We expect you to be in the correct Ventrilo channel (“Raid”) before raid start. (19:30 hr).
RAID SUPPLIES
Checklist of what you should bring to each raid:
- 2 flasks and/or sufficient battle- & guardian elixirs ;
- Sufficient spell reagents and ammo to last an entire raid;
- Sufficient statistic Food;
- Sufficient Mana- & Healthpotions;
- One stack of weapon-oil/weights/stones (atleast 4 charges);
- The money to cover repaircosts (the guildbank does not offer repaircosts)
AWAY FROM KEYBOARD
- Do not go AFK unannounced, a single whisper to your Field Officer is enough;
- Before the raid starts, tell your Field Officer if you have to go AFK for a longer period during the evening;
- Being AFK for longer than 5 minutes without informing your Field Officer may result into a raid removal;
- We offer a 5-minute break between 21:00 hr and 21:30 hr each raid to give you time to do some other stuff.
- When we are at a boss, don’t go AFK at all – unless it’s really needed. We can do trash with 24, not bosses.
GUILD
RECRUITS
Welcome to Lords of Ironhearts...
You have most likely met your Field Officer(s) already. Upon inviting, your two-week trial phase will start and you will be considered Recruit *.
Within these two weeks, your Field Officer(s) will decide whether you may stay in Lords of Ironhearts or not.
Successfully passing your trial phase will grant you the rank Soldier *. Not passing your trial will result into a guild removal.
* See: ‘Guildranks’.
Subjects where your Field Officers will base their decision on:
* Your behaviour (both in- and outside raids);
* Your activity;
* Your performance in raids (skills, damage/healing meters, understanding of boss tactics);
* The way you handle given orders and instructions;
* Improvements made (on your character: gear/enchants/gems)
This list will be used for getting higher up in guild ranks after your trial phase also.
FIELD OFFICERS
Our Field Officers (former Classleaders) and raiding guildmembers are divided over the following fields:
- Tanking Squad
- Healing Squad
- Melee DPS Squad
- Ranged DPS Squad
You are not divided by class, but it depends on your role in raids (e.g. Healing, Tanking).
Your Field Officer is your contact(wo)man. For questions, suggestions or remarks, your Field Officer should be the first one to contact.
Some examples: Going AFK during a raid, being inactive for a couple of days, having problems with someone or something in the guild,
questions about your raidspots/loot/dkp/anything, contact your Field Officer. Also during raids, speak with your Field Officers
if you have something to say, instead of whispering the Raid Leader.
We aim for having two Officers active on each field, so there should often be one online during raidtimes.
If not, you can always contact any of the other officers.
Field Officers are responsible for recruitment, activity, performance and behaviour of it’s Fieldmembers.
GUILD RANKS
Lords of Ironhearts has two divisions: raiders and non-raiders.
* The raiders are ranked as Recruit, Soldier, Raider, Knight, Veteran and -of course- Councilmembers;
* The non-raiders are ranked as Alt or Resting Lord.
0) Alt – You are allowed to have one alt in the guild. Alts are not supposed to participate in any of the scheduled raids.
0) Resting Lord – This is our guild’s social / inactive rank. Resting Lords are not supposed to participate in any of the scheduled raids.
You will be there for social reasons or because you have become inactive for some time.
1) Recruit – You are new in the guild. This is seen as a trial phase. Within 2 weeks after getting your guild invitation,
you will get feedback from your Field Officer and hear if you get a promotion to Soldier or that you will have to leave the guild.
2) Soldier – You have passed your trial phase and may stay in the guild. If you are active enough and perform well in raids,
you can expect a promotion to Raider soon. If you are not very active, you will probably stick to this rank.
Back-up players will stay on the Soldier rank aswell.
3) Raider - You proved to be active and performed well in raids.
This rank gives 25% Guildbank discount.*
4) Knight - You are a very active raider and you showed your dedication and skills during our raids.
You know how to play your class well and you're involved with stuff going on in the guild.
This rank gives 50% Guildbank-rank discount* and the guildbank covers your repair costs!
5) Veteran - You've been with us for a long time and are very active on raids.
Also you are very skilled and are ready to take over the Field Officer’s position when it's needed.
You do the utmost to improve your gear and performance. This is the highest member rank available.
This rank gives 50% Guildbank-rank discount.* and the guildbank covers your repair costs!
* Guildbank-rank discount:
The prices of our guildbank items (rare/epic items, gems, enchanting supplies, etc.) are based on 50% of the Auction House price.
Depending on your rank, you can get an additional guildbank discount:
- Raiders 25% discount;
- Knights & Veterans 50% discount.
Of course you want to get promoted quickly. To do so, make sure your Field Officer is satisfied with:
* Your activity;
* Your behaviour (both in- and outside raids);
* Your performance in raids (skills, damage/healing meters, understanding of boss tactics);
* The way you handle given orders and instructions;
- The improvements made (on your character: gear/enchants/gems).
ALT & RESTING LORD
The rank Alt consists of, obviously, alts. You may have only 1 alt character in the guild if your rank is Soldier or higher.
Your alt is not supposed to participate in any of the scheduled raids.
The rank Resting Lord consists of both inactive players and ‘guild friends’, these players are held in the guild for social reasons.
Resting Lords are not supposed to participate in any of the scheduled raids either.
Even though Resting Lords are here as “non active”, if they are offline for more then 1 month they will be removed,
because then they really don’t serve a social role in the guild anymore.Resting Lords cannot have Alts in the guild.
Not everyone is allowed to get his friends into the guild, to prevent getting a huge amount of ‘unknown’ players in the guild which would create a mess in the guild.
It depends on the current amount of Resting Lords and the guildrank of the appealer must be raider or higher.
Your Field Officer will be the one to contact for these requests.
Your Resting Lord status can only change when the officer of that field approves him as a recruit. He will have to prove himself just like any other recruit.
DRAGON KILL POINTS & LOOT
DKP BIDDING SYSTEM
Lords of Ironhearst uses a DKP bidding system to share the loot among the raiders.
An explaination of how it works:
- Start your bids when the Masterlooter will announce the following text in raidwarning: "[Item X] Start bids";
- The minimum bid is 50 DKP;
- If you want the item, you write how much DKP you would like to pay for it in the raid chat;
- You can not bid the same price as someone else did already. This means you have to outbid eachother;
- A new bid has to be a raise of atleast 10 DKP, and the bids go in steps of 10, 20, 30, etc;
- You cannot bid more than the actual DKP you have, except when you’re the only bidder;
- You can use your Hidden DKP*;
- There is no maximum bid;
- When the master looter finished his countdown (3, 2, 1) and congratulated the winner in his raidwarning, the bids are closed and the item is sold!
* HIDDEN DKP:
A bosskill will grant you XX DKP, which will be added to your DKP pool on our DKP page after the raid.
If you killed a boss earlier the evening, the DKP will be not added to your DKP pool yet. Though, you can use this DKP in your bids.
Example:
[Player A] has a DKP pool of 1000, according to the DKP page. At the end of the evening, five bosses have been killed.
[Player A] wants an item that dropped from the fifth boss. The maximum amount of DKP he can bid is 1000 + (5 x 50 DKP) = 1250 DKP.
NOTE: We will now try to update the DKP page after each boss kill, so there should be an up-to-date list if we're at the next boss. If this is not the case, you'll have to calculate and work with the hidden DKP.
Keep in mind that you have to subtract the (hidden) DKP you may have spent earlier the evening!
EARNING DKP
- A boss kill will provide everyone in the raid 25 DKP;
- A guild-first boss kills will provide everyone in the raid 50 DKP;
- A final- or outdoor boss kill (such as Magtheridon, Illidan, Kel'Thuzad or Malygos) will provide the raid 25 DKP extra;
- Successfully accomplishing the evening’s achievement* will provide everyone that has participated the entire evening 50 DKP;
- Wiping an entire evening will provide everyone in the raid 100 DKP;
- Wiping half an evening will provide everyone in the raid 50 DKP (~1,5 hour counts as half an evening).
*ACHIEVEMENTS
For 25-men raids, the raidleader can set the evening’s goal achievement. This means that if we kill the “goal” bosses on that evening,
everyone that has participated the entire raid will earn extra DKP. This will be 50 DKP and will be added at the end of the raid. You can not use this as Hidden DKP.
MINUS DKP
- Minus 25 DKP for not showing up or being late without a message. (Too late = not online before 19:30 hr);
LOOT PRIORITY
- Main-spec has priority over off-spec. Simply put: the raid benefits from the loot when it’s used next raids. Since off-spec gear will
not be used in the raids, it will not benefit the raid in any way and therefor main-spec has priority
There's a priority for everyone to on their maximum armor-type. (f.e. Mages, Priests & Warlocks have prioity on Cloth armor, Druids and Rogues on Leather, etc.). The off-spec rule is applied here;
- Spellcasters will have priority on items with the +hit statistic;
- Healers will have priority on items with the +mp5 statistic.
TRASH DROPS
- Epic BoP trash drops (if there are any) will be distributed by using the regular bidding system;
- When epic patterns/plans drop during the raid, the Master Looter will announce when you can start rolling for it. Everyone with the required profession may roll on it, though the loot priority rule will be applied when the crafted item is BoP;
- Epic or rare trash drops will go directly to the guildbank. If you want the buy the item, contact the lootmaster or your Field Officer after the raid. The item will stay in the guildbank for a couple of days and will then be sold on AH.
Exceptions may be discussed, but the Master Looter and Raid Leader will always have the final word!
GUILD BANK
PRICES
The prices of our guildbank items (rare/epic items, gems, enchanting supplies, etc.) are based on 50% of the Auction House price.
Please do not abuse this feature!
DISCOUNT
Depending on your rank, you can get an additional guild bank discount. The list is as following:
- Soldier: 0% discount
- Raider: 25% discount
- Knight: 50% discount
- Veteran: 50% discount
This discount is applied on all items! (including the epic gems).
ACCESS
The fact that you have access to certain items in the guildbank, does not mean you can just take anything you want.
You should have the intention of improving yourself or your gear for the sake of the of the guild / raid when you take items.
This means, for example, that you should not take enchanting supplies/gems to enchant/gem your PvP gear.
EPIC GEMS [pending]
Epic gems can be purchased from the guildbank for the amount of *?* DKP or *?* Gold.
The guildrank required to buy epic gems is Raider or higher.
Contact your Field Officer in order to purchase an epic gem from the guildbank.
If your Field Officer is not available, you can contact one of the other Officers.
PATTERNS/PLANS
The (epic) patterns/plans in the guildbank are supposed to go to main character,
not to your alt (there may be exceptions, depending on the amount of patterns/plans available).
Contact an Officer if you are looking for a certain pattern, he/she will check the guildbank for you and possibly give it to you,
depending on your class/spec in combination with the pattern/plans.
EPIC / RARE ITEMS
Epic or rare items can be bought from the guildbank upon request. These items will be put on the AH if no one is interested.
The item will stay in the guildbank for a couple of days and will then be sold on AH.
ENCHANTING SUPPLIES
The guildbank can assist you with getting enchanting materials for enchants.
In order to buy enchanting materials, there are two things required:
- Your guildrank is Soldier or higher;
- Your enchant is meant for PvE raiding purposes.
REQUIRED ADD-ONS
You should always have the following add-ons enabled during raids:
- Omen Threatmeter
- Deadly Boss Mods
- Ventrilo (see: ‘Tutorials’ below)
